Jables Top 15 Fave Can-Rock.

So here is my list for my top 15 all time fave bands from Canada. Some of the greatest bands in the world. Most of which come from the mid 90's and Murderecords era. If you are wondering where Rusty and Erics Trip and Mystery Machine and 5440 etc are, they would be in the top 20. Ill probably feel guilty for omitting several bands and I am sure there will be an "honourable mention" posting in the future.

The order changes from time to time, but here we go.

Number 15:
Transistor Sound and Lighting Co. These guys only put out one album and its a good one. They had somewhat of a hit with "Anyways, Mayonaise" which got a lot of airplay on Much Music back when they played videos.

Number 14:
Change of Heart. Legendary Canadian band. Ian Blurtons first band before forming Blurtonia and C'mon. Blurtonia was my first introduction to Sir Ian Blurton, and it was before a Guided By Voices show no less. Seeing two of my favorite front men in one night. This is the only half decent video I could find. Its from a one off reunion show they did at the Horseshoe Tavern. God bless Ian Blurton. (listen to Little Kingdoms at 3 minutes in. Fuckin rockin.)

Number 13:
Burdocks. Awesome band from Halifax. These guys are no longer together but half the band went onto form Dog Day which is a pretty wicked band, but not as good as Burdocks. These guys filled in my mid 90s void in the two-thousands, sounding very much like they could have been on Murderecords back in the day. Really catchy pop tunes, but raw and heavy at times too.

BONUS DOG DAY VIDEO

Number 12:
GOAT HORN! A kick ass metal band from Toronto. Much like almost everyone on this list, they too are no longer together, but when I think back about the best times in college, seeing Goat Horn at Call the Office is damn near top of the list. You cant stop Goat Horn you'll just meet your demise.

Number 11:
The Super Friendz The first of the Murderecords family on the list. Their first album is so killer, and takes me back to grade 8 every single time I listen to it. Everything after this album is pretty OK, but their first cannot be topped.

Stay tuned for the next installment.

BONUS NON-LISTED VIDEO.
Ladyhawk! Check out their last album. So fuckin good.
