Chris and I got into a conversation about Tony Scott yesterday. This got me all fired up to re watch some of his classics. Last night I threw in The Last Boy Scout, and tomorrow I hope to watch True Romance. His later flicks may have gotten a little to Michael Bay, but Ill be damned if these two aren't entertaining as fuck. Check out The Last Boy Scout again, preferably back to back with Point Break. Thats a killer action night.
I have been catching up on some classic action flicks in the basement of the Serpentine Pad. Last week I watched LOCK UP, which is one of favourite Stallone films. Great memories of watching this movie on FOX on Sunday afternoons.
Tony emailed us this link to the Foos playing Exhausted at the Reading Festival. I fucking love this song. Easily one of my favourite Foo tracks.
A trailer for the new Jon Spencer Blues Explosion album.

It seems like the new GBV cover is the ugly step child to Built To Spill's Keep It Like A Secret album.
The Cribs just played the Reading fest this past weekend. I was all over twitter reading peoples reactions and it sounded like it was one of the greatest shows ever. Some said it was reminiscent of Nirvavas big Reading concert in '92, which got me stoked. Watching these videos made me wish we were there.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND.
It is becoming evident that we missed the greatest Jicks show ever. FNM and Queen covers?? I love this man.
Mind is blown. Malkmus/FNM/The Who mash up.
Props to GBVH for a wicked find....if not the BEST find.

It happened!! After winning the video contest, Joel Plaskett played a solo show for 25 of us. Orso and Jess booked a kick ass loft downtown Toronto and it was bad ass. Total blast. We all sang along, people danced, and we helped Joel sing forgotten Hermit lyrics. Total blast.

Jeremy came over last night and we had a crazy feast. Ribs, chicken, corn, peppers, salad, potatoes etc etc etc. It was awesome.
So I created wine labels for Tiffany's wedding, and of course, I put the wrong date on it. Whats more, I only realized this after I paid 50 bucks to print out 60 of these labels. Classic Johny.
Due to my latest VHS kick, I have decided to make a copy of our back yard Drive In feature on video. Here is the cover.
I am continuing my quest through the old boxes of mine that are all over my parents basement. I am starting to bring over all my VHS movies to the Serpentine Pad. LOTS of awesome stuff. Stuff I forgot I had. I am really glad I never got rid of some of this shit, like the Faith No More tapes, the Thrush Hermit tape, and the countless horror flicks that I love.
Two BIG finds that I thought were gone forever was a box containing the NIGHTMARE VIDEO BOARD GAME!!!! The first 3 instalments. I was so happy to find that one.
EVEN BIGGER FIND was the signed Mr Bungle shirt I got back in high school.
These are the good times.
Hot blooded couples on a cold blooded weekend...and they're dying to ski.
I am going though all my old VHS movies that are packed up in my parents basement. We have recently set up an old TV in our basement, and will be hooking up my VCR. The first movie I will be popping in is this classic. Where is my Karl?

Great scene...
Great review...
So this morning while driving to work I had my Zen Arcade album by Hüsker Dü cranked in my car. It finally sunk in that this song...
...was totally ripped off by Pearl Jam on Spin The Black Circle.

Bought this baby on Amazon for 9 bucks. I really loved this poster and always wanted it. Had no idea it was this big! Fired up!
Holy fuck. Tears.
Now that I have have the US Netflix, there is an insane amount of awesome documentaries, including the 30 for 30 series from ESPN. While I am not a big fan of sports, I am a huge fan of awesome documentaries. Last night I watched ONCE BROTHERS, which was the story of Vlade Divac and Drazen Pertovic and how the war in Cro divided them. One of the best and saddest docs I have ever seen.
Tony was telling me the best one is THE TWO ESCOBARS. After watching this trailer on YouTube, and reading other peoples comments about how incredible it is, I am beyond stoked to check this one out.
Go Sports!

Big day tomorrow!! The last two Archers of Loaf albums are being released tomorrow on Merge Records. Fingers crossed that Encore gets em!!! I fucking LOVE All The Nations Airports. By far my favourite Loaf album. My only beef with this reissue is the reworked album art as I love the original. Also, Gary has an original picture disc which is an image of an airplane engine. It looks pretty bad ass. Besides those two little quibbles, I am stoked.
