I was feeling pretty sick and shitty Saturday, but I still wanted to hit up Encore in the morning and try to get that Nirvana Incesticide vinyl that was released for black friday. No dice! Sold out! Balls! I did end up buying the new Silver Jews and King Tuff albums.
I helped Ned pick up a treadmill and bring it from the store to his upstairs spare room. This took way longer than expected. Those damn hydraulics really fucked with us. After that I went home and hit the couch hard. I tried to get the energy to go to Kevin's bday shindig but I couldn't do it. So I made a pizza instead.
This past Friday night, Jim, Jess, Dan and I hit up my work and killed some Call of Duty Zombies and had some drinks. Good times.
I just got the Dark Wave EP in the mail yesterday. Beyond stoked about this. Some of the best Malk tunes ever on one slab of vinyl. Old Jerry is still Top 5 Jicks tunes for me. So excited.
My Apple TV kept fucking up and I could not rent the new Spider Man movie, which led me back to Netflix. I decided to give this docs first 5 minutes a chance before I would continue to try to find something else to watch. After the first 3 minutes I put my remote down. I was sucked in. Incredible movie. Sad and heavy, but defiantly should be watched.
I really need to stop going to Encore. I just keep buying shit. They finally got the METZ LP and CD in, which means I finally got it. They also got a restock of the new GBV vinyl. My Pinkerton vinyl was waiting for me at my doorstep via Amazon. Good Friday....no....great Friday.
Here are some of the CDs I have bought in the last two weeks. Great stuff. New GBV, new Trail of Dead, and a replacement copy of the first Bronx album (I wore out my original copy).
This video has been making the rounds today. Hilarious.
I have been meaning to pick up a Leather Uppers album for years now, and it wasn't until I read the new Danko Jones book that I was finally inspired to actually do it. I hit up discogs.com and found one for a good price. Now to play the waiting game.
Stream and buy the album here!
I cranked some Hip Club Groove this morning while home alone. Great times.
Interesting note. I bought that vinyl for 5 bucks at a C'mon show. Back when Ian Blurton would bring a milk crate full of his own vinyls, and sell them at shows. Great fucking idea.
Also of interest to fans of Trailer Park Boys is the video below. J-Roc can be seen at the start playing guitar. Also Trevor can be see throughout the entire video as he is one third of Hip Club Groove.
I hit up Encore this lunch hour and got me a vinyl copy of Ween's Quebec record. I also picked up the new Titus Andronicus album on CD. I liked their first album, and it has been so long since I bought an album without hearing one tune, so I decided to give it a shot.
I also, FINALLY, got my package from Rockathon. The three latest singles from GBV. Stoked.
Here is Ween doing Transderman Celebration live. My favourite song off of Quebec.

I keep practicing and practicing, and I think I finally perfected my own home made Pizza. The 4 cheese blend is pretty bad ass. Also, here is a tip, dont buy an expensive pizza peel. Just throw a ton of corn meal on the top of a ripped off pizza box and use that to transfer to and from the pizza stone. Fuck I love pizza.
