The DVD for the wicked movie Burial Ground is kind of budget, so I designed my own using the old CLASSIC poster art.
The Bronx released a new video from their new album. While a good video, and the song kicks ass, it just reminds me too much of the far more amazing, and VERY similar video that Chavez put out back in the 90s.

Chavez's hilarious video for Break Up Your Band. Yes.......yes.
Finally got around to setting up the spare/unused room in our house. Now its a cool little place with a couch, and a TV with cable and my old Xbox. An Xbox that has been hacked, and has every single game for every system from Atari to Super Nintendo. My new favourite hang out.
So it turns out there has been a Silkworm doc in the works for the last couple of years, and it has been released today. I really need to check this one out. Also, Mighty Malkmus is featured in this bad boy.
Man, I love this fucking show. Too damn funny.
I pre ordered a couple of things (besides the GBV stuff) a couple of months back, and they have just arrived. The Bronx just came today with a kick ass Chinese box. Inside was the T Shirt, as well as an actual fortune cookie. Inside the cookie is the download code for the album. So great.
I watched Death Wish 3 last night, and man oh man, I forgot how awesome it is. I have been watching a lot of the old vigilante movies again. A genre I fucking love. Death Wish, Vigilante, Savage Streets...all classics.
This is why I love New York.....and Nirvana.
The Nevermind Orchestra, “the world’s ONLY all-brass Nirvana tribute band,” play “Come as You Are” in a New York subway station. They’re playing the city’s Sullivan Hall this Friday, February 15.

It took about 10 years, but the Alero is finally retiring. A lot of memories in that machine, but once the heat and seats break, its time to give it a rest. She will be retired to the driveway for the time being. Meanwhile my new Camry Hybrid will be mine all mine today. Sure its got great gas milage, but who cares when you have an 8 speaker JBL sound system!

I hit up Encore and got myself the new Tomahawk. So far I cannot say I am digging it. Lets hope it grows on me after a while.
...and it rocks.
Cranking some Thrush tapes in my car. Only two days left with my Conklin Car, so I am making use of the tape deck while I still can. RIP old friend.
Over the last couple of days I have watched two pretty amazing music documentaries. I strongly suggest people watch Sound City and Searching for Sugar Man.
I just got a copy of Zombie and The Mutilator on VHS. These are the good times.
Iiiiiiiiim.....coming........to gheeet youuuuuuuu.....

I spent all weekend sick on the couch. Late afternoon Saturday I got so bored that I forced myself to shower and go to my sweet sweet Encore. My intention was to get the new Tomahawk album. Walk in and I dont see it on the new rack. I look up and the first thing I see is At The Drive-In's VAYA ep on the wall. I was so pumped. I had been looking for it for a while. I go pick it up, and then make my way to their vinyl rack. First thing that caught my eye was Guided By Voices' Biefcase 1. Jaw dropped. I did a double take. I picked it up and could not believe it. STILL IN THE PLASTIC!!! 25 BUCKS!!!
There are only 1000 of these made, and have been impossible to find for the hardcore GBV fans. There is one on eBay right now going for $110. What a steal!
Every once in a while you hit a record store and find something that blows your fucking mind. This was one of those days.
Here is Bunco Men, one of the best GBV songs ever.
I also hit Far Out Flicks and picked up The Blues Brothers and Reform School Girls. |
I decided to make a list of the movies I have watched in 2013. I was kinda blown away that I watched this many in the first month alone.
