Laura put on her Halloween iTunes playlist, and we got to carving late last night.



  

I have been working on ideas for my next Like A Bastard double feature.  I figure I do a Christmas themed line up which is just around the corner.  This will have the usual trailers, ads, and shorts (all Christmas themed) as well as the two movies Christmas Evil and Silent Night, Deadly Night.  This will be a VHS only kind of thing.  Below is the poster I have been working on.  I plan on printing this out full sized and frame that fucker for our spare room.



UPDATED:  I changed a couple of things around.  While I love the look of Grandpa, I think it looks better with the classic chimney image dead centre of the poster.

Ned just sent me an email with the new Mogwai album art (which I love), as well as a link to their brand new song.  I had no idea they were ready to release anything off of their new album which is out in January 2014.  I gotta say, after 10 straight listens, that I am in love with this song.  It sounds like the 'Gwai are influenced by old Goblin, and giallio films from the 70s and 80s.

It seems a lot of bands today are leaning towards the synth stuff (Arcade Fire) but hearing Mogwai mix it in with their guitar sound is pretty damn exciting.  I cant wait for this new album, mind you it will be almost impossible to top Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will.

Last night, Sunday, I broke my promise to myself and watched Halloween III.  I wanted to watch this Devils Night, but I could not help myself.  I would say Halloween III is probably my favourite movie to watch during the Halloween season.  We cranked the Halloween III soundtrack while we made nachos, then I popped in the VHS after we ate.  Laura has been reading my Halloween III book that is in the bathroom so it was funny hearing her reactions to what was happening on screen, and comparing the book version to it.

I will be making a Top 10 Halloween Movies soon.  Movies to watch during Halloween that is, not just the Michael Myers ones.

They had this big graduation day this past Friday, and they are jackt that school is over forever.

Pulled pork! Thats what!

We threw this 8 pound fucker into the crock pot early this morning and set it for a good 12 hours of low cooking.

I stopped by the Smokehouse and bought their Sweet BBQ sauce.  Its literally the best sauce I have ever tasted, and I cannot wait to use it on the pulled pork.

Two of my favourite sauces, together at last.  Props to Tony for the Stadium Mustard.
