Great cover.  Good layout.  Killer font.  GBV these days tend to use three different fonts, this being the typewriter font.  I dig.

This one is ok.  Killer classic GBV font down below, and while I love the picture, this may have looked better as  back cover art.

I keep thinking this is a Boston Spaceships single.  I wonder if it was made at the same time as the Our Cubehouse Still Rocks album art.  This Side A is my instant favourite.  I cranked it so loud last night and it sounded so good. Raw and bass heavy.

LOVE this cover.  Love the colours.  Love the idea of going to a warm place right now.  THAT is a GBV font right there.

I find some of my favourite Bob art are the ones where he uses pink and blues.  Like Tonights the Rodeo and Suitcase 3.  This font reminds me of Propeller.  Thats a good thing.

As a bonus, here is L7 doing their song Ms. 45.  This song isnt in the movie or the soundtrack, but rather the song was written about the movie.

Netflix has released the three seasons of An Idiot Abroad.  A show where Steve Merchant and Ricky Gervais send a reluctant Karl all over the world.  What follows is a totally miserable world traveler, who is unimpressed with everything he sees.  Laura and I watched the first two seasons in about two days.  The things he says and his observations are just amazing and hilarious.

A couple months back I found out that the singer of Priestess has another band called UBT (formally Uncle Bad Touch).  I thought I would give it a shot as I really love the first Priestess album (the second album not so much), and I am so stoked I did.  After listening to them almost daily over the last two months I can honestly say this blows Priestess out of the water.  Just good old fun catchy rock tunes.  I just ordered the latest album on vinyl and I have fingers crossed that it will arrive this week.  Check out some of their tunes below.  Killer.

Finally, the worlds greatest movie is coming to Blu Ray, and the Anchor Bay of this generation, Scream Factory, is putting it out.  I made a conscious effort to no longer double dip (sometimes triple dip) as it is a total waste of money to buy the same movie twice.  Sleepaway Camp however, I will buy on every format known to man.

Whenever I am bored I get a weird kick out of making drive-in movie lineups for our backyard movies, as well as newspaper ads.  I know its a ways off, but now that Christmas is over I am just counting the days until this damn winter is done, and we can get back to drinking and watching movies in our backyard, like normal people.

Below is a mock up of a layout idea I had.  I will use this template to showcase whatever two movies we will be playing at the time.  Totally geeking out right now.

I always wanted to do this double feature.  They just fit too perfectly together.

The best part of my birthday is the usual gifts of booze and Encore gift certificates.  I hit my sweet sweet Encore today at lunch and picked up some albums (Wilco, Tame Impala, and The Black Angels) as well as the new Mogwai album on CD (I have the vinyl and bonus vinyl coming from Sub Pop),





Also when I got home I got two albums from Death Waltz for some of the video work I have been doing for them.  All in all a good day for tunes!
