Today the final two films in this years April Ghouls lineup have been announced. This years line up is probably better than last years, which I would never have imagined happening. My days are booked off, and I am ready for Drive-In Yunglings.
Now that the titles have been announced, the official website is up for this years event. Click HERE to find all the details.
We finally got around to cleaning up Hesher's room at the old Serpentine Pad. The red couch now looks like something out of Twin Peaks, my VHS collection is in there now, and I have Caits amazing secret santa gift on display (the Here's Johny poster). One can get a whole lot of thinking done in this room now, as long as you are immune to the kitty litter smell.
Hesher, clearly loving her newly organized room. |
King Tuff just released a bad ass video for their bad ass Headbanger tune. Extra points for the Thin Lizzy inspired logo in the back. Get this album already if you haven't. Easily one of my faves of the year.
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion have a new album coming out, and this first tune is pretty killer. The video showing all things NYC is pretty damn amazing as well. Crank it.
Last night I followed the latest Food Wishes recipe for Honey Siracha Wings, and wowee zowee are they amazing. The best part is there is no breading, and no oil. Apparently if you use baking powder in your dry rub it'll come out crispy as fuck. Loved it. Didn't make enough though.

How does Trail of Dead release an album this past October get by me?! I must be slipping in my old age! I had no idea that they released a new album. Encore, here I come.
Two of my favourite albums ever are being reissued by the always wonderfully smelling Matador Records. These two fucking albums are gems, start to finish. Big day today, big day.
Watch one of the best music videos of all time below, and break up your band.
Laura, Bones and I hit up Kingpin Sunday night for their Lebowskifest. 5 buck cover charge if you come in a bathrobe (we did), for all you can bowl, a free T-Shirt, and the movie at 10pm. 5 buck White Russians all night. Good times. Sweaty.
My excitement level is peaking right now, so much so that its hard to write this post. I just learned that there is a new theatre opening up downtown right where the Hyland Theatre used to me! The Hyland is a legendary place for me as I saw Jurrassic Park, True Lies, Wild Things, and Jackie Brown there, to name only a few.
This place sounds like KWs version of the Alamo Drafthouse, with classic/cult films, and local beerce. I could not be more excited.
Here is the link to order a copy, if they have any left.
