I just got back from Pittsburgh, and this years April Ghouls Drive-In. This year was just as fun as last years, and I hope next years line up is just as amazing. Here are some pictures I took over the weekend, and I also have a recap video currently in the works.
Also, for a far better recap and better pictures, check out these two posts from the Groovy Doom blog - Friday night, and the Saturday night.
I got an email from Joyful Noise records about a brand new Sebadoh 7" coming out. This will be a vinyl release of their Rush cover that they played at the AV Club. A total kick ass cover if you ask me.
To make it even more Canadian, this is a picture disc with Bubbs on it!
Fans of Sebadoh & Canada, rejoice! Sebadoh have just announced that they are releasing a cover of Canada's best band: Rush.
Sebadoh's wild take on Rush's classic song "Limelight" will be released on picture disc vinyl, limited to 974 hand-numbered copies, in conjunction with their May / June Tour of the US and Canada. The artwork features our favorite Rush fan, Bubbles (from Trailer Park Boys), as well as Jason Lowenstein's version of the Canadian flag.
I found this via a motion graphics website, and its amazing. The elevator ride in the One World Trade building has a timelapse animation that plays as you go up.
An awesome new video from the awesome new Built to Spill album. PICK IT UP! I did during this years Record Store Day. I tried hard to avoid spending money on that day, but I knew I wanted the new BTS which thankfully has the CD included inside of the record. I picked up the two new GBV reissues too.
My trusty notebook with all of my After Effects notes. Always by my side cuz my memory seems to be fading with each passing day.
If you know me, you know I love my cat more than just about anything on the planet. But before Hesher there was Malkie and Spyro, Michelle and Ned's cats. So many times I would get lost playing with these fuckers that I would forget that I was baby talking them, and then turn around to see everyone staring at me. I didn't care, I loved these fuckers. Malkie passed on a couple of months back, and now sadly, Spyro is gone. We never saw eye to eye, Spyro and I, as he would always run and hide when I came, but he was probably trying to avoid being smothered in hugs.
Miss you buddies! Such a kootie.
