Oddly enough this film always reminds me of Christmas, as I watched it late one night on Christmas Eve on CBC. Everyone was out of the house to go to midnight mass, and I stayed home to watch the Buff. That was probably the best present I could have gotten that year, well that and Nightmare, The Video Board Game.
Apolloween has started at Apollo Cinema. A week long celebration of horror goodness. Tomorrows matinee includes a 3D screening of this first Canadian horror film. I have never seen it, and I don't know much about it and will be going in cold. Looks like it'll be a wacky time.
UPDATE: I just got back from this screening, and it was good fun. The film itself was ok, but the dream/3D sequences were a total blast. Really out there kind of stuff. Great times.
When the Mask in the film goes on, you put this on. |
Co worker pal of mine just sent me this link as a night cap to a busy work week. Holy crap this is hilarious. The attention to detail when it comes to the Circus Room blows my mind. So funny.
From the people that brought me Miami Connection, and Roar, comes another lost relic. This film will look great on a shelf next to Miami Connection and Samurai Cop. Here is hoping Apollo Cinema will be screening this one soon.

Halloween is a couple of weeks away, which means its horror movie marathon time! I am thinking of starting with this triple feature of killer car carnage. Christine, Wheels of Terror, and Duel. Coming over?
The fine folks at the Apollo Cinema emailed me asking if I could whip up a trailer for their 9 days of halloween horror lineup. Being the horror nut that I am, I gladly agreed. I spent the morning of my holiday Monday finishing this up. I hope to see it on the big screen soon.

I thought it would be fun cutting in shots from Buffy's prom, into DePalmas split screen prom from Carrie. |
I love my Serif Gothic Black font. |
I always wanted to use this shot from They Live, and I finally got the chance for this trailer. |

Fall is offically here, and like pavlovs dog, when those leaves fall I bust out the same albums every time. I rotated in some classics into the Brid. A couple of mid-90s GBVs, a Lip, and some Daddys. Its not so far into fall yet that I would put in Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock, or Starlite Walker, those are more of a 4th week October type album.
Got some new tunes during our Pittsburgh trip. My discogs order of the new Cribs album and singles came in, and Nick gave me the wonderful gift of a Thin Lizzy album.
