I booked off Friday from work to do an all day Jason marathon with Gary and Tirpak. The films started at 8am, and ran until about 3am. I did however pass out during Jason goes to Hell, and I thought I set my alarm to wake up me for Jason X at 10:30. Turns out I goofed, and woke up at 1:30, just in time to start the Friday the 13th remake at 1:45.

 I finally purchased my favourite episode of Mystery Science Theatre on DVD.  I stumbled across the Zombie Nightmare VHS back in high school at the old Video 99 on Bridgeport, down the street from The Dollhouse.  That was my first introduction to the mighty Thor.  This movie is so fun and bad, so I knew the MST3K episode must rule, and it does.  Probably the funniest one if you ask me. 

I hit up a couple more classics this weekend, with Halloween 4 and 5, as well as Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Next Generation.  I gotta say, I have a whole new appreciation for Chainsaw 4.  I HATED it when it first came out, but now I kinda dig it.  It might even be my favourite Chainsaw sequel.

 


 

Going to take it easy tonight and watch this trilogy as part of this years Jayboween movie marathon.

I took the previous VHS art I made for this years JBTV Special, and did something new with it.  I found several clear sheets of paper I bought for screen printing, and I decided to print out the art I made onto that, and beneath it I would put actual Christmas wrapping paper.  The idea being that each tape (all 3 of them!!) would have its own unique cover art.  Below are some photos of my first mock up.  I am thinking of taking white out to the other side of the clear sheet to make the text more readable.  I just cant find my white out.

UPDATE:  I updated the artwork, which I think looks nicer.  I removed the previous images that were here and have added the latest.  Once I colour in some white spots with white out I will add those images as well, but for now this is what it looks like.

I found a crayon Photoshop brush and redrew it.  I put my name instead of Billy...natch.

Laura and I decided to move rooms upstairs so our bed would be away from the sounds of the morning traffic.  As a bonus to this move is that the old TV and VCR are in there, which comes in handy for my 31 Days of Halloween.  Last nights flick, CREEPSHOW.

Several Drive-In line ups have been made, so my next personal project are the two holiday special mixed tapes I will send out to some pals.  The Halloween Special is coming along nicely, as I have been collecting some great vintage Halloween commercials, newscasts, and bumpers.  I have started working on some VHS cover ideas.  Here is a work in progress below.
