I really need to force myself to use Cinema 4D more often, if for nothing else, text effects.  I feel that I am lagging behind other motion graphics people due to my complete lack of C4D knowledge.


I whipped up this animation real quick by starting easy and using a simple extruded text effect to recreate the opening title card of Friday the 13th.  I added my own little twist to it, but you get the idea.

Friday marks our return to the mighty town of Grand Rapids Michigan, and the reason is the same.  GBV!  Lets take a trip down memory lane and revisit out last trip.

I finally found some time to work on another video for the mighty Death Waltz Recording Co.  This time its for the Corman classic, The Slumber Party Massacre.

I ripped my DVD, and then cut it together some of the money shots together in Premiere.  I took that cut into After Effects and added my usual grain overlays, film damage, and text.


I recreated the look of the opening title credits of the film for these title cards below.

I used this title card from the movie as a reference when creating the text for this clip.

I found a hi res version of the movie poster and extracted the title card in Photoshop, and added "soundtrack" under it, which was rather easy given the use of the Impact font.


Near the end of the clip, with the quick death montage, I added film splice lines between each cut.  Its hard to notice, but I put each splice line overtop of the injury on each shot.

Every Christmas I like to make some sort of Christmas video mix and send them off to those who find such things interesting.  I was very much influenced by the amazing WNUF HALLOWEEN SPECIAL video tape so this years Christmas compilation is a VHS mix tape of yuletide horror called SILENT NIGHT BASTARD NIGHT.  This tape will be made to look like someone taped it off of late night Canadian TV back in the day.  This tape will flip through different Canadian channels between films, showcasing some classic commercials.  I found a LOT of amazing old Canadian commercials, and they are pretty damn hilarious.  Stay tuned!
