Holy fuck. Headstones Friday night. Blew me, and us away, as usual. Zaps, Chadilac, Six Pack, Jaybo, Krazy, Ton Cold and Ned. Still one of the best live bands around. Hugh Dillon is top five front men ever. FKYAH!
Got to go to another work trip, this time to Toronto where we set up shop on the 21st floor of a hotel overlooking City Hall. Fun times...minus the broken AC. It felt like lunch time on Sunday at my folks house. A constant, ball dripping, 24 degrees. The midnight walk through the rain to the pub made me feel like a million bucks though, as did hearing Malkmus at the bar.
fawk! As I wait non patiently for my Dog Day vinyl package in the mail, I am cranking past tunes at a record pace. This tune in particuar takes Karl and I way back. Its "our song", if you will....well, one of our 7000 "Our Songs"
A handfull of poster requests have been made, so I have printed a couple more. One or two of which are throw aways, due to fuck ups. People seem to dig these so thats pretty kick ass! I got a message on DTS asking if I can send one to them because Bob Pollard himself would like one, and if I can spare another they would hang it at Rockathon Records. I am totally geeking out about that one.
I mocked up this here poster with the intent of making some prints and giving them to my circle of GBV friends. Pretty excited to see how it turns out. Oddly enough, the hardest part of this project was getting every song title in the back.
Got around to making the murderecords screens last night. Quickly printed up some shirts. If you want one get me a shirt asap and I will make you one! Gotta hurry though, cuz I got plans for that screen next week!
One of my all time fave shirts growing up was my green Murderecords T Shirt which John Rous got at Edge Fest 95, and traded with me two years later when I had a Matador Records shirt that I found in the Encore Records free bin. Needless to say I wore that fucker to death, and I really miss it. Since I took up silk screening as my new hobby, I figure I can recreate it. Here I am in the middle of re creating the chest logo. EXCITED!
