We hit the Beercetown for lunch. Got the booth that pours beer....that was not working. Got myself a new glass for the collection though!
This has to be the slowest decorating of a tree of all time. We got lights up! Lets see if we will get some ornaments on this fucker before Santa comes.
This past Friday we had our yearly December Firepits at Axls place in Toronto. This year we pulled out the BBQ and set it up right next to the fire pit. For four hours we slow cooked my special ribs. I found out the hard way though, why you never want a dry rub in your eye.
I touched my eye while handling the ribs, and the picture below was taken today, 3 days later. I have an insane pain, and what looks like a blister. I assume it was either the paprika or the cayenne powder that was a part of this rub. Either way, it kills, eh-e-eh.
Sunday afternoon, Laura, Poppa B, and I hit up Grobe to find ourselves a tree. Dad picked out this bad ass one and we loved it right away. Pretty fired up. So far it has only fallen once! Fingers crossed.
It was not until season two, which started this past October, that I got hooked on American Horror Story. Now we are watching season 1 on Netflix, and Ill be damned if its not one of the best shows I ever seen. I have become obsessed.
Words cannot express how excited I am to get this movie in the mail next week.
I hit up Jim and Jess' house Saturday night for drinks and Euchre. I realized that even with my extreme fear/hatred of fish, I still kind of want a fish tank just so I can do something like this. Jess took a Night of the Living Dead poster, and put it up behind their aquarium. So amazing.
Last night we noticed our kitchen was lit up and super bright. Looking out the window we realized that our neighbour was having an insane one man bon fire. Could not stop laughing.
I hit up the KW Record Show this year and found some gems. Sonic Youth, Parliament, the Cobra soundtrack, and a Hole single. I found the new Tomahawk single at Encore which fucking pumped me up, and I got the Pavement Trigger Cut single in the mail. Also, I got Brighten the Corners on cassette as well. All in all a great haul this weekend.
Due to bad snow, ice and shut down 401, I could not make it to Toronto on account of fear for my life. I got home and turned on the grill, and cooked these ribs for over 3 hours. It made the night pretty awesome.
JAYBO RIB RUB OUT (aka Kansas City Dry Rub)
Potatoes. Slice up a bunch of potatoes. Cover in salt and pepper. Throw in some squares of butter and wrap up tight in tin foil. Throw on the grill for an hour, flipping a half hour in.
Turn on half of your BBQ on low, and on the other half lay down your ribs. Cover for a good 2 hours at least. During the last half hour take your favorite sauce and lather it on your ribs. Cover for five minutes. Open, and flip, and lather on the sauce again. Do this for the next half hour, flipping and lathering every 5 minutes.
