FRIDAY FIREPITS POSTPONED

Due to bad snow, ice and shut down 401, I could not make it to Toronto on account of fear for my life. I got home and turned on the grill, and cooked these ribs for over 3 hours. It made the night pretty awesome.

JAYBO RIB RUB OUT (aka Kansas City Dry Rub)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
Mix all of these together, and rub it into a membrane-less rack of ribs.  Wrap up and put in the fridge for an hour, or over night.

Potatoes.  Slice up a bunch of potatoes.  Cover in salt and pepper.  Throw in some squares of butter and wrap up tight in tin foil.  Throw on the grill for an hour, flipping a half hour in.

Turn on half of your BBQ on low, and on the other half lay down your ribs.  Cover for a good 2 hours at least.  During the last half hour take your favorite sauce and lather it on your ribs.  Cover for five minutes.  Open, and flip, and lather on the sauce again.  Do this for the next half hour, flipping and lathering every 5 minutes.
