I found a box of 7"s at the Orange Monkeys and decided to thumb through.  Just as I was reaching the end, and about to put the box back on the shelf, I hit the W's and saw one of my bucketlist 7"s, Ween's Gabrielle single, with an amazing screen printed cover.   "We have had that forever" says Charles.  Dangit.

I also snagged the 7" boxset of the early Dino J. singles for a sale  price of 35 bucks.



Other than that highlight of the weekend, there were wingies and Hesher hangs.

I have always liked Dinosaur Jr, but after seeing them in Pittsburgh last Sunday, I am in full on obsession mode.  I have been listening to nothing but Dino J in the last week.  So good.

We hit up a Spaghetti Western Wednesday at this old theatre, which is now a bar/theatre.  10 bucks for a western film, and a Spaghetti dinner.

Garys backyard set up puts mine to shame.  The best part being the underground wiring to fully working Drive-In speakers.

We hit up Hundred Acres Manor.  This was an amazing haunted house and took nearly an hour to walk through it all.  We also hit The Scare House before the Dinosaur Jr show, and that was amazing as well.

Tony, Eddie and I got into a conversation about what our favourite year for tunes was.  I have always personally loved 1994 as some of my favourite albums and bands were putting out releases around that time.  It helped that I was 12 years old, and everything I heard was blowing my mind at the time.  Some of the classic albums that were put out that year came from bands like Nirvana, Pavement, Guided By Voices, Sebadoh, The Jesus Lizard, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Silver Jews, Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Beastie Boys, Change of Heart, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Folk Implosion, Hole, Green Day, Killjoys, Oasis, Offspring, Thrush Hermit, Weezer, Ween, Veruca Salt, etc.

Tony came up with the idea of listening to nothing but albums and songs from 1994 all weekend, and I am game.  I woke up and threw on Crooked Rain, because I cannot think of a better song to open up a marathon of music from 1994 than with Silence Kit.

I made a pile of tunes that will be spinning at the Serpentine Pad all weekend.
