Jeremy Bruneel asked me to help out with some type layout again, and this time for a Sloan poster! Turned out pretty not bad. 

 Here is a scan of the Edgefest band timeline for posterity. 

 I was moving some casette, when this piece of paper fell out of my copy of Local Rabbits' You Cant Touch This.  This is a lineup sheet of all the bands that played that day in 1995.  My first concert ever, and Sloans "last".  I had this signed by McGetts of Thrush Hermit.

So it would seem that BGO now sells cassettes, this is a blessing and a curse as I can now hopefully restock those tapes that I once had but gave away, but I also don't need more things to buy.   Regardless, I was shaking when I found that Ween tape.

We hit up my old college town last night to check out the Sloan show.  Patrick wasn't there due to a family emergency, which made for an interesting show.

Sloan and Thrush Hermit on Street Cents.  This pretty much sums up my formative years.

Ned just emailed me these two clips of Sloan doing a couple of GBV tunes.  It seems it was Andrews birthday, and they were playing at the venue where GBV should have been playing that night, if they didnt cancel their whole tour.  Andrew has always made clear that he is a GBV fan, and this is further proof as to why he is my favourite Sloaner.

FINALLY! The Murderecords book is for sale on the Sloan website. Up next, I hope, is the Super Friendz reissue of Mock Up Scale Down.

I WANT I WANT I WANT I WANT. This shit better not sell out at that Sloan/Super Friendz show. I need to get my hands on that Super Friendz vinyl like you cant believe.

n celebration of the deluxe reissue of Sloan's album "Twice Removed", the band have combed through their video archives and will present twice-weekly video vignettes for the next 11 weeks.

UPDATE:  Just got tickets for the Starlite show in November!

I really cannot wait to get my hands on this package.  A classic record.

Limblifter, Change of Heart, Sloan....I am LOVING that all these 90s Can Rock classics are being released on vinyl.  Its a good time to be a music fan.

Twice Removed is going to be released on a triple vinyl in the fall!!!  I cannot wait.

Another shirt in the Conshirts series that I am missing or have lost, but I did get this photo from Ned, who still has one. A killer bright blue shirt with the cover of Sloans One Chord to Another. Love it.

My heart just skipped a beat when I saw this photo because I remember that Sloan shirt being my favorite shirt back in Grade 8. I wish to God I still had it. That one and my green Murderecords t shirt. I wore those until they literally fell apart.

Man! On the way out the door this morning I had this urge to listen to the Local Rabbits. Probably because Laura was just talking about them. I took the tape of their album YOU CANT TOUCH THIS to my car, and when I opened it I found one of my favorite concert momentos. It was a setlist of bands that played the very first concert I went to. Back in 1995 Tony and Ned bought me a ticket to Edgefest 3, which was nick named MurderFest, due to pretty much everyone on the MURDERecords roster being there. This was also Sloans "Last Show", before breaking up and then releasing One Chord a year later.

Being a kid OBSESSED with all things Murderecords, this was my dream show. Just look at these bands! Super Friendz, Change of Heart, Zumpano, Mystery Machine, Pluto, Hardship Post, Rusty, Jales, Thursh Hermit, Killjoys, Treble Charger, Local Rabbits, Monoxides, Stinkin Rich (aka Buck 65), and of course, Sloan.

I wish I could go back to that day. One of the best days ever. Who could forget Hardship Post still playing a show after their drummer left, and doing a KILLER, super slow/sloppy version of Coax Me. How about Thrush Hermit doing only Steve Miller songs? Or Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray running up to the lawns and opening the gates to bring what seemed like hundreds of people down to the mosh pit.

Man....those were the days.

So the sweet sweet mailman came today with last weeks Discog.com orders! Man that was fast this time around. I guess christmas really does slow down everything. Anyhoo....I got Faith No Mores second album on blue vinyl Introduce Yourself, and Sloans Smeared record. It is spinning right now as I type and sip away at my Sleeman tallboy while waiting for my ride to trivia which will surly be another victorious night!!

Just finished watching the Hip Club Groove video, and realized I need some more of my fave mid 90s halifax can rock on vinyl. Only 9 euros!! Fuck ya!
