I have been listening to a lot of Elevator and Eric's Trip these days, and I am pumpt to hear Rick White has some new shit coming out this summer. WOO!
# 3 and 4 in a series: Eddie sings Pavement classics "Range Life" and "Stop Breathin", take a guess which one was at that start of the night, and which one was at the end of the night.
Karl and I went to Neds to kick the soccer ball around and it eventually turned into a wicked patio booze and bbq pardy. Such a blast!! NEW SUNDAY TRADITION!!
I say thing, cuz if you stack up all the hilarious tv shows, movies, stand up, people falling, it still does not come close to cracking me up as much as this photo. LITERALLY never laughed harder. I can stare at this thing for hours and never tire. Tears.
Went with Karl last Friday to Sarahs place for what was somewhat of a house warming party. Somewhat because it was the first one, but she was also already living there for 2 months....with 2 months to go. Needless to say it was a fuckin BLAST!!
WOO HOOOOO!! The Cribs are back baby! New album in September. I was a little scared to hear the inclusion of The Smiths guitar player Johnny Marr kinda changed their sound to more....well Smithish. Thankfully I dont hear it.
So Gary has his own productions company for his video work called ALMOST HUMAN. He asked me to help him come up with an opening logo, and he decided he wanted a take off of the opening credit title to his fave nazi-zombie epic, SHOCK WAVES. Here is a little teaser. Right now its just a very basic text animation. Once I have more time I will tweak the hell out of it, add some grain and film look to it, as well as damage. Ultimately I want to make it look like a shitty VHS video, like I did with my Ragman Productions logo.
What the fuck!? I was searching for some Frank Black to download and came accross this on Demonoid. Seems to be a soundtrack or something, from Sparklehorse and Dangermouse. Its the cast of characters for each song that kinda blew me away! Gruff from SFA, Iggy Pop, dude from Flaming Lips, Lytle of Grandaddy, Julian from Strokes, and even DAVID LYNCH!!!!
I found some website, and I am not even sure what the fuck it is. Says visuals by David Lynch. Maybe its some video album or something? Who knows. I am going to investigate now.
1. Revenge (featuring The Flaming Lips) 2. Just War (featuring Gruff Rhys) 3. Jaykub (featuring Jason Lytle) 4. Little Girl (featuring Julian Casablancas) 5. Angel's Harp (featuring Frank Black) 6. Pain (featuring Iggy Pop) 7. Star Eyes (I Can't Catch It) (featuring David Lynch) 8. Everytime I'm With You (featuring Jason Lytle) 9. Insane Lullaby (featuring James Mercer) 10. Daddy's Gone (featuring Mark Linkous & Nina Persson) 11. The Man Who Played God (featuring Suzanne Vega) 12. Grim Augury (featuring Vic Chestnutt) 13. Dark Night Of The Soul (featuring David Lynch)
Had a fuckin blast this year, even tho our holiday fell on a Wednesday. BALLS! Was home most of the day after drinking till 4am at Dans house. Woke up at 7 and made my way home around 9. Tried to nap, but I guess watching Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer might not be the best movie to nap peacefully too.
Little later in the afternoon ned came by for a couple-ah-brewskis. Watched british Office (which i still need to return to Ryan, if you are reading this.) Had just enough to want to make me nap, but as soon as i fell asleep my alarm went off to go to Karls. Karl drove, and we cranked CHAVEZ the entire time to waterloo, where we had a kick ass BBQ and Thin Lizzy vinyl rock fest at Ashs house. Ash gave me a fuckin kick ass present that consisted of a card and an Orange Monkey button, and another button that says "TOO RIPPED! GOTTA GO!" Hilarious.
Drank a bit then made our way down Columbia St to Waterloo park where we watched the fireworks. It was pretty fuckin awesome to see. What was more awesome was seeing hundreds and hundreds of people walk down the street once it was finished. Someone could have saved millions on extras had they decided to film a mass zombie scene.
Anyway, a fuckin awesome time. Love my Karl. Love my Ash bash. Love my Chavez.
