WEDNESDAY:
-Axl came over and we went to Adrians yearly keg party.
-Lotta people there, and a lot of talk about FNM.
-Went home around 2am because Axl had to get up early for work.
THURSDAY:
-I stayed in bed most of the day to get over my hangover, and also to rest up for the crazy weekend ahead.
-I drove to Sleeman to get a couple cases of beer, because all beer stores were closed.
-I drove to Scotts Treehouse, and parked at the school across the st. The party just started.
-We pick up Nick from his house and we are on our way to the Falls.
-Get to the falls around 9ish or so, and Axl is going to meet us in his hotel.
-He is late so we go grab a bite and some much needed pints.
-Axl gets stuck in traffic cuz everyones stops to watch the fire works. We watch from the patio of the Applebees.
-We meet Axl in the lobby of the Fallsview Casino. He had a room for work, and let us crash there.
-We go up and start drinking.
-Played a game of Menu Madness, where I as Richard Dawson would read off different menu items and the 3 contestents had to guess the price. Steak was $48.
-Scott takes a power nap around 230am, and wakes up ready to roll.
-I pack my bag full of beer, and we find a nice hill to sit on and have some drinks.
-Scott finds an open door that leads to a back ally of a Starbucks. We somehow manage to climb the locked off ladder to the roof where we drank some more Sleemans.
-After about half hour or so on this roof, we took a walk to the falls. It was pretty amazing being able to drink at like 4am at the falls without a soul in sight. Except for that one couple that walked by...as Nick was taking a piss into said Falls.
-Scott, ever the negotiator, manages to get room service up to our room at about 5am, and Ill be damned if it wasn't by far the best burger I ever ate.
Cranking King for A Day...Fool For A Lifetime. A first listen for Scott. He became a fan by the last song.
Hanging out in the hotel lobby while we wait for Axl to check in.
Realizing in the morning we probably had the best seat in the city for the fireworks...had we checked in in time.
FRIDAY:
-Slept in until 10am Friday morning, shower, shit, coffee and we were on our way to the border.
-Probably the best weather for a drive. Windows were down, and Scott's new sub woofer got a work out cranking FNM.
-After quite a long drive we get to Philly where we go to the venue first to find out where it is, then drive around looking for a hotel. We realize that the venue is not in a good part of town. We find downtown and look for a hotel.
-We find the "shee shee" part of town, as Axl would call it, and it was amazing. Big park, and trees and nice city streets. Scott walks in and talks to the head desk, saying he worked for TD. We got rooms for $130 a night....regular price you ask? $449. Amazing.
-Waited for Peties, Mikey and Mank to show up.
-Had a couple drinks and this wicked patio eating sandwiches and local brew.
-Waitress sold us 2 six packs each to take back to the hotel.
-Once Mike and the guys got showered we took off to go downtown.
-We hit up as many bars as possible.
-Got to one bar that's menu had two pages of food, and 5 pages of beer. It was unreal.
-I missed out on my first chance at a Philly Cheese Steak cuz the line was huge and I didnt feel like eating at 4am.
-Walk back to the hotel and sleep.
Just some of the amazing views we saw. I think we drove for a good 5 hours and saw nothing but trees, as far as you could see. It was incredible.
This table was an actual coffin with a skeleton inside wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Hundreds of business cards were in there so we threw in Axls OLG card.
SATURDAY:
-Woke up and we took a walk through the park just out front of our hotel. It was amazing. Had the best pretzil I ever ate.
-Scott really wanted to try to get in this hotel across the park that was pretty incredible, but the only room that was left was over 3 grand, and the "I work at TD" trick didnt work this time. So we stayed in our room again.
-Walked around all day checking out different places.
-We drank from a paper bag, and ate a cheese steak. Both of which are incredibly good.
-We hit up this bar that was the biggest dive ever. Incredible jukebox where we played Soundgarden, Nirvana, Guided By Voices, Pixies, etc.
-The bathroom was punk rock. Writing all over. I had to cave in my shoulders just to fit between that partitions to piss.
-Walked some more. Back to the hotel before the show.
-Drank and drank.
-Took a cab to the best rock show ever.
-We get there are there are these wicked box seats up in the balcony. We all decide to just take one. Before the show ever starts everyone is shirtless and screaming.
-We sang every word, hugged a bunch of randoms, and chain smoked.
-After the show we were on an incredible high, so we go back to the hotel to drink some more, freshen up, and go out on the town.
-Hit a lot of bars and talked to a lot of people. Really fun times.
-Petie kept showing off his new tramp stamp, running up to random cars yelling "HONK IF YOU LIKE MY TRAMP STAMP." followed instantly with honks.
-Spent all night laughing and boozing.
This girl we met at the one bar saw us walking down the middle of the road and ran over to take a photo of us all. Thank god cuz this one sums up the best weekend ever made.
ITS FUN TO BE US.
